Growing tools

Find out how much ready-made growing mix to buy, calculate plant-feed dilution and understand your grow lights.

How much mix do I need?

Enter your pot’s internal dimensions and the number of pots, then choose a JungleBotanics ready-made mix to see how many bags you need.

100% gives the full internal capacity. Reduce this to allow for roots and headspace; for example, 80% reserves one fifth of the pot volume.

Fertiliser dilution calculator

Calculate how much liquid concentrate to add using the dose on your product’s label.

100% uses the full label dose; 50% uses half. This calculates your chosen dilution rather than choosing a feeding rate for your plant.

Use the instructions for your specific liquid fertiliser. This tool does not calculate doses for powders or infer nutrient strength from EC or ppm.

Grow-light calculator

Calculate daily light integral (DLI) from the light intensity at your plant and the hours your light is on.

Assumes a constant PPFD while the light is on. This result covers the light you enter; changing daylight is not included. Measure at leaf level rather than using the lamp’s wattage.

DLI = PPFD × light hours × 0.0036

DIY recipe calculator

For growers blending their own media: scale a recipe to your chosen batch size. Use the same scoop or container for every ingredient.

Example ratios demonstrate the calculator. Adjust the ingredients and proportions for your plant and growing conditions.
