JungleBotanics is the trading name of Jungle Botanics Ltd, a UK specialist horticulture and developing plant-biotechnology company, combining rare-plant retail with propagation, micropropagation and practical plant-science guidance.
We grow and supply collector plants through junglebotanics.co.uk, while developing propagation and tissue-culture systems for rare, valuable and difficult-to-produce ornamental plants.
For questions about a listed plant, growing format or propagation project, contact JungleBotanics.
What we do
Our plant collection includes unusual Monstera, Philodendron, Scindapsus, Rhaphidophora, Anthurium, Alocasia, Begonia and other tropical and variegated plants. Stock changes as propagation batches develop, so availability varies throughout the year.
Alongside the plants themselves, we publish detailed growing resources and supply specialist growing media and propagation accessories for UK growers.
Science-led horticulture
Our approach is informed by plant biology and practical horticultural observation. Root-zone aeration, water availability, humidity, meristem development, plant hormones, variegation and acclimation all affect how plants establish and grow.
We apply these principles to vegetative propagation, growing-media development, tissue-culture acclimation and the preparation of established plants for customers.
Plant biotechnology development
JungleBotanics is developing plant-biotechnology capability focused on commercial micropropagation, acclimatisation and repeatable protocol development for ornamental plants.
Our development work focuses on recording contamination, shoot multiplication, rooting and acclimatisation performance so that production decisions can be based on measured results.
Longer-term interests include ornamental breeding, induced variation, precision breeding and conservation propagation. These remain future development areas requiring suitable facilities, evidence, partnerships and regulatory controls, rather than current retail service guarantees.
Plants, supplies and growing guidance
Browse all plants, explore our variegated plants, or shop growing media and accessories.
Our Plant Science & Growing Guides cover aroid propagation, tissue-culture acclimation, plant hormones, variegation, rooting biology and common propagation problems. You can also read our introduction to plant tissue culture and micropropagation or explore how plant variegation works.
UK plant delivery
Plants sold through junglebotanics.co.uk are carefully packed for UK delivery. Dispatch is normally limited to Monday through Wednesday to reduce the chance of live plants remaining in the postal network over a weekend. Seasonal conditions can affect dispatch timing.
How our guidance is produced
JungleBotanics guides combine established plant-science principles, relevant primary research and practical horticultural observation. Published methods, proposed adaptations and JungleBotanics trials are identified separately so that evidence and direct observations are not presented as interchangeable.
Pages are reviewed and corrected as better evidence or new observations become available. The aim is to explain what is known, what is being tested and where uncertainty remains.
