Alocasia Polly Pink Variegated

Alocasia Polly Pink Variegated is a collector Alocasia grown for arrow-shaped foliage with variable green, cream and pink-toned sectors.

Alocasia Polly Pink Variegated care

Provide bright, indirect light, stable warmth and an aerated root zone. Pale and pink areas contain less chlorophyll than fully green tissue, so maintaining healthy green leaf area supports sustained growth. Avoid abrupt exposure to intense direct sun.

Watering and substrate

Use a structured, well-aerated substrate that retains useful moisture without remaining continuously saturated. Alocasia roots and corm tissue require both moisture and oxygen, so prolonged waterlogging can increase the risk of decline.

Humidity and airflow

Warm, moderately humid conditions can support active growth and leaf expansion. Higher humidity slows evaporation and substrate drying, so irrigation frequency should follow the actual environment rather than a fixed schedule. Maintain suitable airflow and avoid cold draughts.

How stable is the pink variegation?

Pattern and colour can vary between successive leaves. One highly variegated leaf does not guarantee the same balance on future growth, and stronger light should not be treated as a guaranteed way to force pink or pale sectors.

Can Alocasia Polly Pink Variegated revert?

New growth can become greener if chlorophyll-producing tissue becomes more dominant through the active growth point. Very pale growth can also be weaker because it contains less photosynthetically active tissue.

Propagation

Alocasia are usually propagated from offsets, divisions or viable corm material rather than ordinary leaf cuttings. Each propagated unit needs living growing tissue capable of producing a new shoot and root system.
