Euphorbia meloformis ‘Variegata’, commonly called variegated melon spurge, is a compact collector succulent with a rounded, ribbed body and irregular cream, yellow and green marbling. Mature plants may produce offsets and small seasonal cyathia.
Plant size
Supplied in a 6.5 cm nursery pot. Variegation, rib count, colour and offsetting vary between individual plants.
Care
- Light: Bright light with gradual exposure to direct sun. Strong light can intensify cream, yellow or pink tones, but sudden exposure may scorch pale tissue.
- Substrate: A sharply draining, mineral-rich cactus and succulent mix.
- Water: Drench thoroughly, drain completely and allow the substrate to dry before watering again. Keep considerably drier during cool, low-light periods.
- Temperature: Keep frost-free and preferably above 10°C.
Safety: Despite its cactus-like appearance, this is a Euphorbia. Its milky latex is toxic and irritating. Avoid skin and eye contact and keep away from children and pets.
Detailed guide: Read the Euphorbia meloformis ‘Variegata’ UK care and buying guide.
