Monstera Aurea Large Form is a collector Monstera grown for yellow-to-golden variegation and large-form growth. As with other variegated Monsteras, the visible pattern can change between successive leaves and should not be treated as a fixed percentage.

Light
Provide bright, indirect light to support active growth. Variegated leaves contain less fully photosynthetic green area than equivalent all-green leaves, so adequate light is important. Avoid abruptly exposing protected foliage to intense direct sun.
Substrate and roots
Use a structurally open aroid substrate that retains useful moisture while allowing rapid gas exchange after watering. Root respiration requires oxygen, so a continuously saturated medium can create poor root-zone conditions even when the plant is not visibly wilted.
Watering
Water thoroughly, then allow the upper portion of the substrate to begin drying before watering again. Calendar-based watering is less reliable than observing the plant, substrate, container size and environmental drying rate.
Temperature, humidity and airflow
Warm, stable conditions favour active growth. Moderate to high humidity can reduce excessive water loss and support expanding foliage, but high humidity also slows substrate drying. The amount and distribution of yellow tissue can vary as the shoot develops. In plants where variegation is maintained through different cell populations in the stem and meristem, the tissue contributing to an axillary bud becomes particularly important when the plant is cut.

Propagation
Stem propagation requires a viable node and growth point. Maintain the cutting's water status while keeping the rooting environment oxygenated. Excessively wet media can restrict gas exchange, while a medium that dries too quickly can dehydrate the cutting before a functional root system develops.

Choosing a cutting
Do not judge propagation potential from the leaf alone. Inspect the stem and node for healthy tissue and visible distribution of variegation. No external pattern can guarantee the exact appearance of future leaves, but the growth point is biologically more relevant than a single mature leaf.
