Philodendron Gloriosum 'Snow Leopard' combines the crawling growth habit of P. gloriosum with variable pale variegation. Its horizontal rhizome makes its container and propagation requirements different from those of climbing Philodendrons.

Crawling growth
Allow the rhizome to advance across the surface of the substrate rather than burying the active growth point deeply. A long or wide container can give the stem room to produce successive rooted nodes.
Light
Bright, indirect light supports leaf development while reducing the risk of damage to pale tissue. Variegated areas contribute less photosynthetic capacity, but increasing light cannot manufacture variegation in a growth point that lacks it.
Substrate and watering
Use an aerated medium that drains freely while retaining useful moisture. Water according to root activity and drying rate; permanent saturation reduces root-zone oxygen.
Humidity
Moderate to high humidity can support expanding leaves, particularly during establishment, but good air movement and sensible irrigation remain important because high humidity slows evaporation. See our aroid humidity and VPD guide.
Propagation
Rhizome sections can be divided where each section retains a viable growth point. Existing rooted nodes generally establish faster than unrooted sections. Variegation
