Colocasia Lemon Lime Gecko

Colocasia Lemon Lime Gecko is an eye-catching collector aroid grown for bold foliage with contrasting lime-green patterning. This established plant is suited to warm, bright growing conditions and makes a distinctive addition to an unusual foliage collection.

Colocasia Lemon Lime Gecko care

Provide bright light with stable warmth. Established Colocasia can tolerate stronger light than many indoor aroids, but plants moved from protected conditions should be acclimated gradually to avoid leaf scorch.

Watering and substrate

Colocasia generally prefer a more consistently moist root zone during active growth than many Monstera or Philodendron. Keep the substrate evenly moist without allowing it to become stagnant or anaerobic. A structured mix that retains moisture while maintaining air-filled pore space supports healthy root activity.

Humidity and growth

Warm temperatures and moderate to high humidity support rapid foliage production. Higher humidity slows water loss from both leaves and substrate, so watering frequency should be adjusted to the actual environment rather than a fixed routine.

Light and foliage colour

Good light supports compact growth and strong foliage expression, but sudden exposure to intense direct sun can damage leaves that have developed under lower light. Colour and pattern intensity can vary as leaves mature and as growing conditions change.

Growth habit and propagation

Colocasia grow from underground storage structures and can produce new growth from corm or offset material. Propagation therefore relies on viable growing tissue rather than ordinary leaf cuttings.
