Scindapsus White Shadow Variegated is a collector climbing aroid grown for contrasting green, silver and pale-variegated foliage. Patterning can vary naturally between successive leaves as the vine develops.
Scindapsus White Shadow care
Provide bright, indirect light with stable warmth. Avoid abruptly moving protected foliage into intense direct sunlight, particularly where leaves contain larger pale sectors.
Watering and substrate
Use a loose, aerated substrate with enough pore space for gas exchange. Water thoroughly when required, then allow the upper portion of the medium to begin drying rather than maintaining constant saturation around the roots.
Humidity, support and growth
Moderate to high humidity can support active growth, but it also slows substrate drying. Maintain useful airflow and adjust watering to the actual environment. As a climbing aroid, Scindapsus can be given vertical support as it matures.
How stable is the variegation?
The balance of green, silver and pale tissue can change between leaves. Future growth cannot be guaranteed to reproduce the exact pattern of current foliage, so variegation is best assessed across the active shoot rather than from one leaf alone.
Propagation
Stem propagation requires a viable node and growth point. During rooting, maintain enough humidity and moisture to limit dehydration while preserving oxygen around the cut surface and developing roots.
