What makes a plant look pink?

Is pink variegation stable?
Not always. In some collector plants, differently pigmented cell populations are maintained through the shoot meristem, so the amount and position of colour can change from one growth point or leaf to the next. A single highly pink leaf therefore does not guarantee identical future growth.

Balance colour with plant function. Look for active growth, a healthy crown or growth point, established roots and enough productive green tissue to support continued growth.
