Live Plant Guarantee & returns

If your order arrives damaged or a plant is in poor condition, contact us promptly with your order details and photos so we can assess the issue.

Begonia cucullata Pink Variegated is an unusual variegated Begonia for UK collectors, grown for contrasting green, cream and pink-toned foliage. The distribution and intensity of colour can differ naturally between leaves as new shoots develop, so each plant has an individual appearance.

Choose your variegation grade

Select Reverted, Low, Medium or High / Premium to match your preference. These are relative grades within this Begonia listing and describe the plant's overall visible foliage when selected for sale. The grade is separate from pot size and root development; individual leaves and future growth can vary.

  • Reverted: predominantly green growth with little or no visible pink variegation.
  • Low: mainly green foliage with smaller or more occasional areas of pink variegation.
  • Medium: more clearly distributed pink patches or marbling across the foliage.
  • High / Premium: more extensive or pronounced pink variegation across the plant's visible foliage.

Compare the selected grade with its photographs and consider the whole plant rather than one leaf. High / Premium describes current appearance and does not guarantee the same colour or coverage on future leaves. If you need help choosing a grade or confirming which photographs apply, contact JungleBotanics before ordering.

Can reverted plants become variegated again?

In our own JungleBotanics stock, reverted plants have produced variegated growth again on several occasions. This is an observation from our plants, not a guarantee that any particular plant will do so. A Reverted plant is sold based on its current predominantly green foliage and may remain green.

What you will receive

One rooted live plant in a 9 cm nursery pot, with its pot and growing medium. Photographs show variegated examples and should not be used as a promise of the Reverted grade's current appearance. Flowering at dispatch is not guaranteed.

Begonia cucullata Pink Variegated care

Grow in bright, indirect light with stable warmth and an aerated root zone. Good light supports compact growth and healthy foliage, while abrupt exposure to intense direct sun can damage leaves, particularly lighter variegated areas.

Watering and substrate

Use a well-aerated substrate that retains useful moisture without remaining continuously saturated. Water thoroughly when required, then allow the upper portion of the medium to begin drying. Fine Begonia roots need both moisture and oxygen, so watering is better judged from the substrate and growing environment than from a fixed weekly schedule.

Humidity and airflow

Moderate humidity can support healthy leaf expansion. Higher humidity is especially useful during propagation or establishment because it reduces water loss, but it also slows substrate drying. Balance humidity with suitable airflow and root-zone aeration.

Pink variegation

Pink, cream and green patterning can vary between successive leaves and shoots. The appearance of one highly variegated leaf does not guarantee that future foliage will reproduce exactly the same pattern. Variegation should therefore be assessed across the active shoot and new growth rather than from a single leaf.

How is Begonia cucullata Pink Variegated propagated?

Begonias can show strong vegetative regeneration. Depending on the material available, propagation may use stem or leaf tissue. Maintaining a moist but oxygenated environment while limiting dehydration is important during establishment, particularly before a new root system is functioning.
